看到自由時報的新聞說“美航人員：台灣已改名中華台北”
新聞裡的最後一段﹕相關人士指出，航空訂位與國名無關，各航點都以代號標註，像桃園機場為TPE；
至於台灣的簽證，一向都與中國不同，推測可能是美國航空人員的個人誤解。
對這點﹐ 每一個機場都有待號﹐ 但代號基本上是以這個機場所在的城市。
但是﹐ 我問的是台灣﹐ 而不是台北桃園機場。。。為什麼得到的答案是”台灣和
中華﹐台北“是一樣的。
我特別打電話去美國航空﹐ 先是問了一下要不要簽証的問題﹐ 後來我直接問訂位
原 “是台灣還是Chinese Taipei”。 訂位原的回答是。 “我打進“台灣”去查詢
資料﹐ 出現的是Chinese Taipei” 這一段對話我有錄下來放在youtube﹐ 以免
AA不承認。(蠻難過的。。本來還“肖想”這是一個錯誤。。。)
是否在台灣的朋友也可以反應給政府﹐ 請台灣政府和美國航空聯絡﹐要求美國航空
更正錯誤。 (除非政府也同意使用Chinese Taipei instead of Taiwan or R.O.C.)
我又打到聯合航空 (United Airlines), 我就裝笨問訂位員﹐ 我想去台灣﹐ 可是聽
說台灣又叫Chinese Taipei, 所以我要確定我要去的地方是正確的。 這位訂位員
的回答是”飛到台灣的機場是桃園機場在台北﹐ 我沒聽過Chinese Taipei 這個稱呼”
美國航空是怎麼搞的。。真是的。
我是不知道這和馬政府有沒有關﹐ 但是﹐ 對於 American Airlines 的這個做法我
和我妹妹是希望大家可以 email 去美國航空的客服部去抗議。

To Whom It May Concern:
It has come to my attention that when potential customers telephone the
AA reservation line, they are told that Taiwan has been changed to "Chinese
Taipei" in AA's reservation system.
As a Taiwanese that has always chosen AA over other airlines, I find the
change extremely offensive and disappointing. To date, Taiwan is not part
of China. The change that has taken place, according to multiple reservation
agents that I and my associates have spoken with have confirmed the change
in the system.
I hereby urge that American Airlines take this matter seriously and request
American Airlines to take immediate action by changing the name back to
its original form in the reservation system. As a business that serves
the public, the correction needs to take place by American Airlines.
